This is a foundational role at UN/CULTURE. You'll help shape the voice, story, and community of the platform from the ground up — working alongside leadership to build something that has never existed before. This isn't an internship. It's a creative apprenticeship with a direct line to the executive layer.

Responsibilities

• Research and document cultural traditions, mythologies, and storytelling practices from diverse global communities
• Co-write platform copy, universe descriptions, and editorial content that is culturally accurate and emotionally resonant
• Moderate and engage with the UN/CULTURE community across platforms — voice, tone, and cultural sensitivity
• Support creator onboarding: help new creators understand the platform, pitch process, and IP ownership model
• Collaborate with the production team on developing new universe concepts
• Represent the UN/CULTURE mission at cultural events, festivals, and community gatherings

Ideal Candidate

• Deep, personal connection to at least one non-Western cultural tradition — living experience preferred over academic
• Strong writer with a distinctive voice — can work in both editorial and conversational registers
• Genuine passion for animation, mythology, storytelling, and the creator economy
• Ability to build trust with communities that have historically been exploited by media companies
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment — generalist, self-directed, collaborative
• Knowledge of multiple cultural storytelling traditions is a significant plus
